LABOR FOR YOUR PORTABLE CONTAINER
You arrange the container. College Movers provides the crew to help load or unload it.
Our local college movers can help with customer-provided PODS, U-Box containers, portable storage containers, and similar moving containers. Get straightforward hourly labor for homes, apartments, offices, and storage projects, with a two-hour minimum.
Schedule Container Moving Help
Important clarification: College Movers provides labor only. The customer orders, positions, stores, and transports the container and supplies any blankets, straps, dollies, or packing materials needed.
Get Help With the Heavy Lifting
Portable containers let you pack and move on your own schedule, but loading one still requires carrying furniture, boxes, and household items through the available opening. A College Movers crew can meet you when the container is ready and help with the labor.
Crews can help:
- Carry prepared boxes and furniture to or from the container
- Load a customer-provided moving or storage container
- Unload items and place them in the rooms you identify
- Navigate stairs, elevators, hallways, and longer carries
- Follow your labels and placement plan
- Move prepared items between a home, apartment, office, or storage area
College Movers does not supply, move, transport, or store the container.
Container Loading Help
Before the appointment, have the container delivered and legally positioned, boxes sealed and labeled, furniture emptied where appropriate, and pathways cleared. The crew will carry prepared belongings and load the available container space.
Because container size and loading conditions vary, tell us about stairs, long carries, elevators, unusually heavy pieces, and the container’s distance from the door when booking.
Container Unloading Help
Once the container arrives at your destination, a local crew can unload it and place items in the correct rooms. Reserve any elevator or loading dock, arrange parking and access, and make sure the container can be opened safely before the scheduled start time.
Containers We Can Help With
Moving labor may be booked for customer-provided containers such as:
- PODS portable containers
- U-Haul U-Box containers
- 1-800-PACK-RAT containers
- Portable storage containers from other providers
Brand names describe customer-provided container types and do not indicate a partnership or endorsement.
How It Works
1. Arrange the container
Order the container, choose its delivery location, and confirm when it will be available for loading or unloading.
2. Book your crew
Select your city, date, start time, crew size, and estimated hours. Appointments have a two-hour minimum.
3. Prepare and direct the job
Have the container and customer-provided supplies ready. Show the crew what needs to be moved and where items should go.
Prepare Before the Crew Arrives
- Confirm that the container has arrived and can be opened
- Seal and label boxes
- Empty and prepare furniture when appropriate
- Clear walkways between the building and container
- Reserve elevators, loading docks, gates, or parking
- Have blankets, straps, dollies, and packing materials ready
- Identify fragile, unusually heavy, or specialty items in advance
Simple Hourly Moving Labor
College Movers charges for the labor crew rather than the container or its transportation. Appointments use hourly pricing with a two-hour minimum. See the current Pricing page for the applicable rate and booking terms.
